Our programmes will bring together partners from around the world, building on a network of global alliances to tackle the most pressing engineering, safety and sustainability problems, and developing practical, sustainable and accessible solutions for the engineering profession worldwide.
Our global network of expert engineers, academics and business leaders are working in partnership to share best practice, explore new technologies, educate and train the next generation of engineers, build capacity, improve safety and deliver impact.
Our Engineering X community is currently working on 5 missions.
Catalysing partnerships between universities and industry in the UK and 6 partner countries to address sustainable development goals through challenge-led research and innovation
Improving safety in the decommissioning and disposal of products and structures at the end of life
Helping the global engineering community to learn from the COVID-19 pandemic by sharing disruptive solutions and best practice approaches in the prevention, preparedness, response and recovery
Building evidence and convening networks to educate, advocate and govern safer complex systems
Supporting the delivery of skills and education programmes to develop engineering skills capacity, enhanced safety standards, and infrastructure that remains safe and fit for purpose
Engineering X and United Nations High-Level Climate Champions call for reduction and phase out of open burning of waste in Africa
From gathering evidence, to implementing standards, Engineering X is working hard to identify and solve problems on a global scale. As well as these initial programmes, we would welcome additional partners who share the Academy and Lloyd’s Register Foundation’s vision of a safe and sustainable future to join the Engineering X alliance to engineer a better, safer world.
